Talking to my mom…?

environment canada issues : I was talking to my mom the other day and told her I want to emigrate from Canada as I don’t really think it’s a hospitable environment for hetero white men anymore. I told her that in our country, sympathies and public interest tend to cater first and foremost to women and people of colour. She said that harbouring such views towards women in our society makes me something of a misogynist. I asked her if women who flee the Middle East or India because it’s a culture that favours men makes those women misandrists. She had no response… What do you think?

**Tracey, do you have any stats that prove that women in those parts of the world are “raped daily” and that half the time their offspring grow up to murder them?

**ProfessorC, this isn’t about me having a “poor white man complex”, it’s about me recognizing that I’m not favoured in my society and seeking to remedy that situation. When a woman does it it’s called and intelligent decision that leads to empowerment, when a man does it’s misogyny? Give me a break.
***to those who suggest I join the military, I am clearly someone who doesn’t respond well to authority or indoctrination of ideas that run counter to my own.

as far as travelling and living abroad goes, I’ve done both. I’ve been to third world countries and have to say, as a man, I most enjoyed the treatment I received while living in Eastern Europe. Plus the women were gorgeous…
**Annie** Are you are aware that the BC NDP has “female designate ridings”? That’s right. Ridings where it’s been decreed by party leaders that only a woman can represent them. Pretty sexist/discriminatory if you ask me. (not that I’d ever associate myself with the NDP…)
