3 Preferred cities – Please advise which is the best bet?

environment canada issues : Please provide vital info for us as we are new to Canada. I have three preferences to settle down with my wife and small kid. Please advise of PROS & CONS of each place as your valuable thoughts will be very helpful in our final decision.

1) KINGSTON – ON
2) OTTAWA – ON &
3) HALIFAX – NS

I am currently in Toronto and like to move and settle in any of above mentioned places. In terms of general job opportunities, affordable housing and nice friendly environment. Appreciate everyone vital inputs. Thanks to all

Out of the 3, your best bet is to go with the nations capital – Ottawa.

Kingston, Ontario: Pros: Really nice city, good housing prices, great downtown, friendly people and great restaurants. Cons: Can get boring after a while

Ottawa: Vibrant city, lots going on all the time, great places to shop, lively downtown, many good places to eat, friendly people, good nightlife, the great skating on the canal in winter and it is the nations capital so all important things happen there also there are many festivals. Cons: Very cold winters (it is the coldest capital city in the world), relatively expensive homes (but not as expensive as Toronto).

Halifax: Pros: On ocean so in summer you get all the beach activities, cheap homes, friendly people.
Cons: Not much to do, bad weather, not much culture, no night life, fairly boring.

In conclusion Ottawa is the best city on your list to live in, Kingston would be 2nd and Halifax I would advise not to live. I have been to all cities many times and know them well.
